How Long Does a Bathroom Remodel Take on Average?

A lot of bathroom remodelers market a one-day shower program, but what does that really mean? It means that the actual installation may take a single workday, but that doesn’t tell you much about the overall timeline, which will also include:

• Planning and design
• Material shipments (aka the lead time)
• Demolition and structural or plumbing upgrades
• Installation and post-installation cleanup

In total, most installers can complete your shower from contract to cleanup in two months or less. At ZINTEX, we’re usually finished in six weeks or less. 

Part of what allows ZINTEX to complete the in-home phases (from demo to cleanup) in one to three days total is that we specialize in acrylic shower walls. If you’re looking for a material like tile, the in-home phases are likely going to take longer. This is because acrylic shower walls come together in four main pieces (the base and three walls), whereas tile must be installed piecemeal. 

What Is the ZINTEX Quick Ship Program?

The ZINTEX Quick Ship Program is a remodeling option that is available to all our customers. However, it does impact your design options (which we’ll discuss below). That means that to take advantage of the Quick Ship option, you’ll need to plan your remodel around the program from the start. (In other words, we probably won’t be able to retroactively fast-track a remodel that is already underway.) 

The Quick Ship Program enables customers to complete their remodel in three weeks or less, starting from the time you sign your contract. Our sales representatives will come to your in-home consultation equipped with all the information you need to sign a contract that same day. In other words, you could go from completing your consultation to enjoying your newly remodeled shower in three weeks or less. That’s at least one week faster than our fastest standard remodels and closer to one month faster than industry averages.

How do we make this work? We keep select walk in shower materials on hand in our warehouses. By designing a shower with materials we keep stocked, you eliminate that prolonged shipping timeline. Plus, you eliminate the risk of supply chain delays or material defects upon arrival.

What Are My Design Options for a Quick Ship Remodel?

We’re able to offer an expedited Quick Ship Program because we have the ability to keep a surplus of popular shower materials in our warehouses. Originally, this included only the most basic single-color options, like white and beige (sometimes referred to as biscuit or almond). As the Quick Ship Program becomes more popular, we’re able to expand our offerings to include a variety of premium panels with designs that resemble high-end natural stone.

The important thing to keep in mind when you’re using our Quick Ship Program is that it does limit your customization options. For example, you may not be able to:

• Pick from the full range of premium wall panel designs offered by KOHLER, Jacuzzi, or BCI Acrylic (manufacturer partnerships subject to your location) 
• Add etched patterns to create the aesthetic of tile 
• Pick from our full range of shower accessories, such as corner shelves or foldable bench seating
